Redundancy 101

Something you can never have enough of, is Redundancy!

We have signed up for Sat3 redundancy for all of our ADSL connectivity. This would excite you if you were one of the unfortunate few who were paying peanuts for, well peanuts, a few months ago when the Seacom Cable went down (and you were left in the lurch for international internet connectivity). For days Businesses stood still, employees stood huddling around a 3g dongle, taking turns to fire off emails, while the IT Techies sat on the line to companies like MWeb, fishing for updates.

We’ve covered why we have gone the more expensive route, but what impact does this have on our customers?

As much as possible has been done to not allow our clients to absorb the costs – we believe that something as vital as ADSL Connectivity should come standard with redundancy. We have kept our competitive prices right down and our service levels right UP!

Personally, I can not wait for any form of cost being attached to bandwidth to be history. But for now, we will do our best to continue to over-deliver with service excellence.
